Pinnacle Canyon Academy celebrated their elementary students with awards Tuesday morning.
The awards ceremony started at 9 a.m. and spotlighted students in grades one through six who were outstanding in reading, writing, attendance and honor roll, as well as recognize each of the students who participated as part of the student council this school year.
Students were also praised for their work with Arbor Day projects and those who demonstrated strong qualities of character and good citizenship were awarded the American Legion Medal.
The retirement of Linda Ellis was announced at the ceremony as well. Ellis, who teaches first grade at the school, will be retiring and moving to Arizona with her husband.
