Tuesday’s Sunnyside City Council meeting focused largely on clean up efforts scheduled throughout the month of May.
The Council wants to encourage residents to clean up their yards, and the city will offer the service of a dump truck to get it done. Residents will be allowed one free load. All subsequent loads will be subject to a nominal fee.
Sunnyside is also holding a community-wide planting day on May 14. They will be planting flowers at Sunnyside Park and Miner’s Trading parking lot. Anyone who has flowers they want to break up and plant is invited to bring them.
The Council reported that their firefighters passed a written test but still need to take practical and hazardous material exams.
The next meeting will be May 17. Sunnyside City Council meetings are held on the first and third Tuesday.
