The Utah High School Rodeo Association met Wednesday at the Carbon County Fair Grounds to discus the possibility of hosting the Utah High School Rodeo and Junior High Rodeo State Finals competitions in Price.
Representatives discussed an inability to remember a year when the competitions were held outside of Heber City. Committee members were excited by the possibilities the Carbon County Fairgrounds provides.
A successful bid could be worth over $1 million to Price and the surrounding community, according to representatives. Such a bid would generate a five year contract beginning in 2012.
Committee members will research the area’s possibilities and report findings at a meeting on Tuesday at noon.
