Eight teams competed in the inaugural Down and Dirty Demolition Derby Doubles Horseshoe Tournament on Friday night.
By the end of the event, Cody Allen and Ricky Sandoval walked away with first place honors followed by Clinton “Chief” Badback and Dusty Lofley in second place and Carlos Sandoval and Tommy Martinez in third.
“With all the happenings last weekend, I thought why not throw in a horseshoe tournament in conjunction with one of our county’s biggest events (the Demolition Derby),” stated Carbon County Recreation Horseshoe League Director Rochelle Badback. “With such a new facility, I want to make sure we get as much use out of it as possible.”
She went on to explain that July will be a big month for tournaments in Carbon County. Events will be conducted at Community Daze in East Carbon, at Pioneer Days in Wellington and during Price City International Days.
Currently, Badback is organizing a Facebook page in order to provide information about leagues and upcoming tournaments.
