The Carbon High football team used a 14-point fourth quarter Friday to rally past visiting Monticello in Price.
Nick Haycock led the Dinos attack with 14 receptions and three touchdowns, all of which were thrown by quarterback Dakota Cisneros. Haycock scored both of the Dinos’ fourth-quarter touchdowns.
A back-and-forth first half ended with Carbon ahead 13-12. Monticello took a 20-13 lead early in the fourth quarter on a 100-yard fumble return for a touchdown and subsequent two-point conversion.
That’s when Haycock and Cisneros took over.
The pair hooked up for three and four-yard touchdown passes to help Carbon seal its second consecutive season-opening victory.
Carbon’s other touchdown came on a one-yard Daulton Nelson run in the second quarter.
The Dinos host American Leadership Academy at 7 p.m. Friday in Price.
