Three young women had the opportunity to compete in the Miss Utah’s Outstanding Teen pageant last weekend in Provo. Adriana Taylor, Lexi Monson and Madison Burrola of Carbon County and Paytn Jeffs of Emery County each participated in the event.

The outstanding teen pageant is a scholarship based program that emphasizes scholastic achievement, community service, style and individual success of young women across the state. Each contestant participated in five categories including personal interview, talent, evening gown/on-stage question, lifestyle/fitness (not swimsuit) and scholastic achievement.

At the end of the competition, Jeffs was awarded the overall fitness award and finished fourth runner-up at the statewide pageant. Burrola received the committee’s choice award, which is comparable to a congeniality award. Monson received the scholastic award which included a $250 cash scholarship prize.
