On Wednesday, the Carbon County Commissioners made the decision that in the interest of citizens affected by flooding, building permit fees would be waived for victims.
Carbon County engineer Curtis Page approached commissioners seeking approval to work with State Division of Water Rights and Army Corp of Engineers to restore flood channel capacities and resolve drainage issues.
Page discussed the damages and explained that they had identified the washes and drainage areas where potential issues are.
Commissioners gave their approval for the work to begin and ratified the approval and signing of the Emergency Disaster Declaration.
