Press Release
Carbon County is pleased to announce it has received a Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative Grant of $10,000 for trail markers and decals. The grant was awarded as part of Yamaha’s Outdoor Access Initiative for promoting safe, responsible riding and open, sustainable riding areas.
After ten years of working with land management organizations to lay the ground-work for the trail system, the time has finally come for the trail system to be marked. Yamaha’s financial assistance has made the purchase of the trail markers a reality. Expressing his gratitude for the Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative Grant, Carbon County Commissioner Casey Hopes states, “We appreciate the partnerships we have made with Yamaha and others that allow so many people the blessing of seeing the beautiful landscapes offered in Carbon County. It is by and through these partnerships that great things can happen. We are excited to have Yamaha as a partner as we move forward creating more recreational opportunities for all people.”
Adding markers to the trail system assists residents who now can ride from their homes to most any place in the county by following well-marked, designated trails. The multiple-use trail system traverses nearly 250 miles across many different elevations with a lot unique landscapes and places to enjoy along the way.
“Yamaha partnered with Carbon County to support safe and sustainable access to this important trail system,” said Steve Nessl, ATV & SxS Marketing Manager for Yamaha. “Signage is an important investment on sustainable trails, particularly for multi-use systems that support OHV riders of all types. Being able to provide resources that help keep everyone safe and having a great time is what the Outdoor Access Initiative is all about.”
