The new Eastgate Apartment Homes in Price were designed and built by The La Porte Group from Salt Lake City. The La Porte Group specializes in affordable housing and is widely recognized as a leader in the field. Each of the over 20 properties owned by The La Porte Group is professionally managed by the property management branch of The La Porte Group, known as La Porte Management.
Among the growing problems in urban areas is the income gap between rich and poor. Many of the working class citizens are finding it harder to find housing that is affordable. The La Porte group has taken action by rehabilitating historical apartments into complexes that offer clean, newly-remodeled apartments and easy access to the urban community for individuals that qualify for Section 42 housing.
Section 42 housing, also known as Low Income Housing Tax Credit, is a dollar-for-dollar tax credit for affordable housing investments. The residents who live in Section 42 housing must be income and program eligible.
Three of the properties owned by The La Porte group are located in the Carbon County area. The Avalon in Helper, New House Apartments in Price and now the Eastgate Apartment Complex, also in Price.
The Eastgate Apartments has 72 units. Many are still under construction, several units are already occupied and The La Porte Group is accepting applications for others. Some of the many features in the one, two, three and four bedroom apartments at Eastgate are hardwood floors, granite countertops, central HVAC, patio or balcony, and spacious walk in closets.
The apartments at Eastgate offers a swimming pool, business and wellness center, playground, fitness center, club house, covered parking and many other amenities.
The La Porte Group is also accepting applications for the Avalon House Apartments in Helper. Avalon House was originally a shelter called the Golden Rule Mission. It consists of 34 studio apartments, each with their own kitchen and bathroom. Avalon House also has an attached soup kitchen and thrift store to serve its residents and the community.
