Students at Creekview Elementary have been using the month of December to assist the community by participating in a food drive.
Throughout the month, a food drive competition will take place between each grade. The grade that gathers the most food will be treated to a root beer float party. Plus, if students gather 1,000 cans, they will enjoy a day at school wearing their favorite hat. After 2,000 cans, students can wear pajamas to school one day.
Additionally, after the food drive, students will take part in their annual S.T.E.M. canstruction event. The event allows children to be creative and build a structure out of the food they have gathered. Following the canstruction, the items will be donated to the Carbon County Food Bank.
