Leading by 13 at half, the Carbon High Lady Dinos were well on their way to securing the Region 12 crown Thursday night, but the Wasps avenged a 22-point loss earlier in the season to edge the Dinos in overtime, 51-47.
Juab’s Tessa Bradford led all scorers with 14. Kelcy Otani and Miranda Averett were the lone Dinos in double figures with 12 and 11 points, respectively.
Carbon shot just 12-27 from the charity stripe. The Dinos were outscored in the final two quarters and overtime 40-23.
Carbon next travels to North Sanpete Tuesday. The Dinos finish up their Region 12 schedule Thursday against second-place Delta. With a win in both games, Carbon would wrap up the Region 12 crown.
