On Thursday, January 14, 2016, the Carbon County Senior Center is hosting another AARP Driver Safety class from 1-5 p.m.
The four-house class will present information that will be of value to senior drivers in two ways. First, by use of updated videos and discussion, the senior driver will receive information about themselves as they age: reaction time, vision, hearing, agility and medication that may have an effect on them; how changes in roads and highways that senior drivers need to be aware of and the many changes in laws of the road in recent years.
Second, by completing the class, participants will receive a certificate that they present to their auto insurance carrier to receive a discount on their premium that will be good for three years.
There are no written examinations or behind-the-wheel tests. The cost of the class is $15 for AARP members and $20 for others, which includes all manuals and handout materials.
To register, contact the Carbon County Senior Center at (435) 636-3202.
