AARP Smart Driver Course Slated for January 12

The Carbon County Senior Center is sponsoring the next AARP’s Smart Driver Class Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 1 to 5 p.m.

Topics that will be discussed in the 4-hour class include changes that occur as people age- vision, hearing, reaction time, and agility; changes of traffic rules and new devices such as flashing yellow turn arrows, and roundabouts; changes in the cars we now drive, with so many features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Electronic Stability Control and other devices.

A certificate of completion will be given to participants at the end of class that can be given to their auto insurance agent to receive a discount on auto insurance. If both spouses take the class both will receive the discount. This will be effective for 3 years. Cost for AARP members is $15, for others the cost is $20.
