The Carbon County Senior Center will be hosting the next AARP Driver Safety Class on Thursday, Oct. 8 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the center located on 450 South Fairgrounds Road in Price.
The course will be a four-hour class devoted to change and no written or behind-the-wheel test will be given.
Discussions will include how driver’s change as they age; reaction time, vision, hearing and agility. A dialogue about the many changes that have come about over the years with the automobiles and features designed to provide a safer atmosphere while driving. The numerous changes that have occurred with the roads and highways that many seniors have traveled across over the years. Finally, closing out the discussion portion of the safety class will be a conversation on the recent changes in traffic laws that drivers need to be aware of. A short video will be shown to enhance all the areas of the safety class.
Participants will be given a certificate of completion to present to their auto insurance agent to receive a discount on their annual premium.
