The Deseret News All-State teams were announced on Thursday afternoon. Two Lady Dino seniors received the honor for the 2023-24 season.
Adri Abeyta made the 3A First Team after an impressive season. Abeyta finished her season leading the team with seven Home Runs, 14 Stolen Bases, 45 Runs, 56 Hits, 35 RBIs, 18 Doubles, 5 Triples and a 0.897 Slugging Percentage. She was second in Batting Average with 0.486 as well as On Base Percentage with 0.541.
Kylan Sorenson was awarded 3A Second Team for the three-sport athlete. Sorenson led the team with a 0.486 Batting Average, 2.96 Earned Run Average and 0.541 On Base Percentage. Sorenson finished the season with nine wins on the mound and 93 strikeouts for the season, as well as eight stolen bases, 30 Runs, 53 Hits, 28 RBIs, nine Doubles, two Triples and two Home Runs.
Coach Kirt Nunley was very happy for his athletes’ achievements.
“Congrats to our Lady Dinos for making the Deseret News All-State teams. This is a huge accomplishment,” Coach Nunley stated. “We as a coaching staff are very proud of them both. Congrats ladies! GO DINOS!”
