Active Re-Entry kicked off a series of classes on healthy, affordable cooking on Wednesday.
Pam Konakis was the master chef of the event at Active Re-Entry. She taught those in attendance about a diabetic diet while cooking on a budget and/or cooking for few people. Information was provided about eating carbohydrates, correct portion sizes, and other nutritional information. Konakis demonstrated two recipes at the event that people could then sample.
The next cooking class is on Wednesday, May 22 from 10-11:30 a.m. Another class will be hosted at the same time on Wednesday, May 29. Both events are free and open to the public.
