World renowned performer Alex Boye entertained an audience of all ages in Emery County Monday.
The concert took place at Emery High School and drew in hundreds of people from Carbon and Emery counties.
Boye performed popular songs in a variety of genres, from Motown to modern, and combined his singing with dancing. He quickly earned the audience’s approval with his dance contest and backup singers, chosen from the ground level seats.
Alex Boye is originally from London, England and is of Nigerian descent. He began his music career in a European boy band, “Awesome,” where their album, Rumors, hit the top-10 charts across Europe. In 1999, Boye decided to pursue a solo career. He immigrated to the United States in 2000 and took up residence in Salt Lake City. He has released several religious albums and currently performs with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir in Salt Lake City.
