Eastern Utah Women’s Health and Danielle Pendergrass (DNP, APRN, WHNP-BC) are well-known in the community for striving to ensure that women have a multitude of options when it comes to their health.
Once again, this was accomplished when it was announced that, through funding from Family Planning Elevated, free birth control will provided at Eastern Utah Women’s Health. All methods of birth control are available at no cost. Pendergrass wanted the community to know that they work tirelessly to ensure that all women have an equitable opportunity to access women’s healthcare.
She continued by stating that not only does this including contracting with insurance companies, but securing programs and funding that provide care for women regardless of their current insurance status. Family Planning Elevated, Pendergrass stated, is the safety net program that provides the funding to offer the full range of contraception for women that reside in Carbon, Emery and Grand counties. Free STI testing is now also available at the establishment.
“In implementing this program, we are finding that many women who do not have insurance now qualify for Medicaid. We have streamlined the process for identifying these women and getting them enrolled,” Pendergrass concluded.
