It is becoming an annual event for the Emery High wrestling team to invite and recognize alumni wrestlers at the final home wrestling match of the season. This year was no different and a large group of former wrestlers were called to the mat to be recognized and thanked for their support of the wrestling team at Emery High.
Coach Kick Christiansen said there were wrestlers from 1986 in attendance this year. The alumni were rewarded with 100 Grand candy bars, noting their similar worth to the program. An exhibition alumni match between two former state champs, Wyatt Oveson and Shawn Mangum, was the highlight of the evening. Also to honor the alumni, several of the high school squad wore singlets from former years.
