Spectators were treated to a flag retirement ceremony as well as a brief history lesson on Tuesday as part of Flag Day.

The program began with a flag presentation by the Price Elks Lodge. The Boy Scouts next displayed various U.S. flags and described their place in history. Members of the Price American Legion Post #3 then completed a flag retirement ceremony for tattered and worn flags brought by local individuals and businesses.

The program is an annual event that takes place on Flag Day, June 14, each year. It commemorates the adoption of the United States flag, which occurred on June 14, 1777.
