Each year on Flag Day, a ceremony takes place to honor our nation’s flag and celebrate the retirement of flags throughout the Castle Country.
Flag Day is a national holiday celebrated on June 14 each year. It is a day to commemorate the adoption of our nation’s flag on June 14, 1777.
The Elks Lodge hosted the event on Thursday, giving a brief history of the American Flag. Local scouts were invited to participate in the program, assisting in presenting the flags.
Following the program, the Price American Legion Post 3 presented an official flag retirement for flags that were no longer serviceable.
