The Sunnyside 69th Annual Rodeo will be July 12 and 13. The royalty contest is slated for June 30 at 3 p.m. at the Sunnyside Arena.
Royalty consists of queen, first and second attendant. The contestants must be 13 years and up. Attendants may compete until they make queen. There will also be two princesses, 12 years and under, that will reign for two years as princess and then may compete for queen’s court at age 13. The contestant’s age is their age the day of the contest.
Contestants must ride their horse to a given pattern, ride in the parade on Saturday, July 13, and move the cattle in the arena during the rodeo. An open barrel race will follow the royalty contest and will include added money as well as a silent auction.
