Athletes of all ages competed at the 2018 Lunatic Triathlon in Price on Friday evening.

Beginning with the kid’s triathlon at 8 p.m., children could be seen swimming on the Desert Wave Pool’s outdoor pool. The young athletes then transitioned from swimming into biking and running around Washington Park. Results from the kid’s triathlon can be viewed below.

After the kids’ triathlon concluded with awards, the Lunaticus Maximus Triathlon began at approximately 9:15 p.m. The Desert Wave Pool’s waves were set on a low for this event with no curling at the sides in hopes to make an equal swimming field for each swimming participant.

After swimming from the shallow side of the pool to the deep end four times, the athletes then exited the pool where they transitioned to the bike course. Beginning at 100 East in Price, the bikers journeyed up “C-Hill” and beyond.

Runners then began their run by heading East for three miles until they came out at the top of 800 North. They then turned right and headed west on 800 North and ran one mile back to the park and to the finish line.

The triathlon began in 2010 and has continued to grow. This year, the first ever Helper Lunatic Triathlon will take place on Aug.24. For more information about this event, please click here.
