The Carbon County Fairgrounds Events center played host to a special event on Saturday. The 4th annual Carbon and Emery Friends of NRA Fundraiser took place, attracting a sizable amount of Castle Country residents.
Champions of the Second Amendment gathered to enjoy drawings, auctions, drinks and a prime rib dinner that was catered by Sam Farlaino. A chance to win exclusive NRA guns, gear, decor and collectibles was also a draw for the crowd. The 2017 gun of the year at the event was the Daniel Defense M4 Carbine V7 5.65mm NATO Rifle. Other NRA exclusives were the Kel-Tec PMR-30 .22 Mag Pistol, Sig Sauer P320 Compact 9mm and more. Items available for auction and drawing varied widely from decor, jewelry, guns and the like.
Preliminary funds raised from the event have been counted. While the final amount is not yet available, it is projected that around $16,000 to $19,000 was raised.
