Carbon County Sheriff’s Office Press Release

The identities of the two subjects involved in the vehicle pursuit and fatal traffic accident on Oct.24 have been confirmed through the Office of the Medical Examiner.

The driver of the 2005 Dodge Magnum was identified as Taukatelata Solomone Faulua, 25-year-old male, of West Valley City, Utah. The passenger was identified as Guy Nelson Tsosie, a 34-year-old male, of Teec Nos Pos, Ariz.  The Office of the Medical Examiner stated they passed away due to blunt force trauma at the moment of impact, prior to the fire.  Both subjects were staying at the Riverside Motel in Helper and were temporarily working at a construction site in Price.

Although it is unknown why they elected to flee from police, it could have been because both subjects had warrants for their arrest.  Faulua had two Utah Statewide warrants, one for DUI and the other for assault, intoxication and unlawful detention. Tsosie had an NCIC warrant out of New Mexico for cruelty towards a child.
