The morning commute was slowed today following an auto accident near IFA. According to Price City Police Officer Susan Hyde, the incident occurred when a minivan traveling eastbound on 100 North stopped suddenly for a pedestrian. An unmarked Carbon County Sheriff’s truck was unable to brake quickly enough and struck the van from behind. No serious injuries were incurred however, the driver of the van was transported to Castleview Hospital complaining of neck pain.

“Traffic came to a complete stop in both directions to allow the pedestrian to cross,” Hyde explained. “There is no crosswalk in this area and we are still unsure why the citizen was crossing the road here.”

At this time, neither driver has been cited nor is speed considered a factor in the accident.
