SR 31 through Huntington Canyon remains closed today. Crews will be blasting for avalanche control and clearing the roadway. After yesterday’s avalanche, four vehicles were stuck above the avalanche area. They could not travel back up the canyon due to terrible road conditions and blowing snow.
Members of ECSO, UHP and Emery County Road Department were able to walk the stranded motorists around the avalanche and transport them to town. Their vehicles are still on the roadway and will be removed once conditions improve and a path can be cleared.
