Millsite Golf Course in Ferron has undergone some big changes over the past year.
The course has endured construction and planting, the addition of a new clubhouse restaurant, and is currently being graced with the presence of new golf carts.
Course employee Mike Wilson said he hopes the new holes will be ready for a tournament scheduled for June 24-25.
“All we need is two weeks of nice, warm weather,” Wilson said. “The greens and tee boxes are ready to go, but the fairways need warmth to fill in.”
Wilson also said he expects the tournament to attract close to 100 golfers.
Ferron City Councilman Trent Jackson said a solid opening date for the back nine could be determined at Ferron’s city council meeting Thursday night.
The front nine is currently open for business.
