The annual spring band concert took place at Emery High School Thursday.

The concert began with a combined band made up of the sixth grade classes from Castle Dale Elementary, Cottonwood Elementary and Ferron Elementary.

The combined band played “Autumn Fanfare” by Mekel Rogers and “Anasazi” by John Edmondson. Ben Carroll, EHS Band Directo, then explained that the final piece, “Castle Gate, 1924,” by Tyler S. Grant, was composed as a tribute to the Castle Gate mine disaster. The band performed the number after just two weeks of practice.

The Emery High Concert Band then performed four pieces:В “Under The Double Eagle March,” by Andrew Glover, “Held Still in Quick of Grace,” by Jack Stamp, “A Festival Prelude,” by Alfred Reed, and “Trombone Blues,” by Andrew Glover.
