Emery Spartan catcher Jesse Barnett knocked in three runs in the Spartans 6-4 win over North Sanpete Friday in Mt. Pleasant, snapping a three-game losing streak.
Barnett went 2-4 with a double and single. Kyson Stilson went 2-3 with a triple and two RBIs and a walk.
Emery took the 3-2 lead in the second before North Sanpete tied it up at three in the fourth. Emery then scored three runs in the seventh and allowed one run in the bottom half of the inning before hanging on for the important Region 15 win.
Easton Gordon went six innings on the mound, allowing just three hits and one earned run while striking out seven batters. Koda Alton pitched the seventh and picked up the win.
Emery (11-9, 4-6 Region 15) will host Richfield on Tuesday and will then take on North Sevier on Friday in Castle Dale.
