Members of the community gathered at the Carbon County Fairgrounds arena to enjoy the annual mud drag races.
The Battle of the States Mud Drags was part of the Carbon County Fair celebration. The Tony Basso Group, Conoco Phillips, HELIOS, Emery Telcom, Dinosaur Tire and the Southeastern Utah District Health Department sponsored the event.
Many different races were features during the drags. There were kids’ motorcycle/ATV and adult’s ATV mud races. For larger vehicles. the pro-mud, modified, pro-stock, super stock, street legal and mountain crawler categories were available. The drivers of the vehicles were not all local as some came from out of state and others came from over the mountain to take part in this event.
