Utah Fire Info announced on Monday that containment on the Bear Fire has increased to 93%. The acreage of the fire remains at 12,170.

The small patches of remaining uncontained line are on the southeast and southwest corners of the fire. On Monday, crews will work on fire line mop up and patrol will continue on the entire fire perimeter. Crews will also begin chipping operations as part of fire line suppression repair along Spring Canyon Road.

According to Utah Fire Info, a red flag warning will be in effect for the fire area until 12 p.m. on Monday. Conditions throughout the day are expected to be breezy with winds shifting to the west and west/southwest later in the day.

“Critical fire weather conditions are anticipated to return Tuesday through midweek as a southwest flow strengthens across Utah,” Utah Fire Info shared. “Temperatures today will reach 93° in lower elevations and near 82° along ridgetops. The relative humidity levels will be 8-15% for the fire area.”

This week, there will be an incident management team transition between the California Interagency Incident Management Team 10 and the incoming Nevada Type 3 Incident Management Team 1. The incoming team is shadowing the current team on Monday and is expected to take control Tuesday.
