Notice is hereby given by the Division of Oil, Gas and Mining of its tentative decision to approve the revised Notice of Intention to Commence Large Mining Operations for the Chalk Hills Quarry operated by Diamond K Gypsum, Inc. Mining activities will affect portions of the following areas: the SW1/4 of Section 23, the NW1/4 of Section 26, and the NE1/4 of Section 27, Township 19 South, Range 10 East, SLBM, Emery County, Utah. The site will be bonded in increments of about 10 acres and mined in increments of about five acres.

Any person or agency aggrieved by this tentative decision to issue approval is hereby requested to submit written protest within thirty (30) days of the date of publication to Dana Dean, P.E., Deputy Director – Mining, Division of Oil, Gas and Mining, 1594 West North Temple, Suite  210, Box 145801, Salt Lake City, Utah 84114-5801, setting forth factual reasons for the complaint.
