Big turnout for Deer Creek coal miner’s poker run benefit for Steve Thornton (photo gallery)

Deer Creek 2013 3rd annual coal miner’s poker run was held on Saturday. The ride was well attended with 52 bikes participating in the ride this year, that was 20 more than last year. The ride was to benefit, Steve Thornton, of Orangeville with his battle fighting cancer. The ride started at the Energy West building in Huntington, with the route running through: Ferron,I-70 Ghost Rocks, Rays Tavern in Green River for lunch, and ended in Price at the Washington Park where door prizes were given out to those riders that went on the ride, the door prizes were donated by many local business throughout Emery and Carbon Counties. It was a perfect day for a ride and everyone had a great time.
