Project advances Trump Administration goals of American energy dominance and fostering economic growth in rural communities by supporting the creation of jobs and infrastructure development
VERNAL, Utah —The BLM has issued a Record of Decision (ROD) on Enefit American Oil’s seven right-of-way applications following consideration of both draft and final environment impact statements. The BLM assessed comments and feedback received from the public during the 60-day comment period prior to issuing the ROD.
The proposed Enefit American Oil Utility Corridor Project, located in Uintah County, is consistent with the Administration’s goal of American energy independence and supports the creation of jobs that help local communities grow. The construction of the pipelines, power lines, and road will contribute approximately 85 to 110 jobs over several years.
“Right-of-way projects are tremendous economic drivers that involve critical coordination with our neighbors and stakeholders,” said BLM Deputy Director Brian Steed. “We are proud to do our part to move this important energy project forward.”
Under the ROD, Enefit American Oil may construct 13.7 miles of water supply pipeline, 5.58 miles of buried natural gas supply pipeline, 7.18 miles of buried oil product line, two138-kilovolt H-frame power lines, and upgrade an estimated five miles of the Dragon Road on public lands in the Vernal Field Office. The project would provide access, natural gas, electricity, and water to—while allowing for the movement of processed oil from—Enefit American Oil’s South Project, which is planned on private land and minerals owned by Enefit. The corridor project is located approximately 40 miles south of Vernal, Utah.
