The #BLMUtah Price Field Office sponsored a Project Archaeology experience for teachers and local archaeology enthusiasts July 27-July 30, 2015. Ms. Charmaine Thompson, an archaeologist for the United States Forest Service, and Ms. Samantha Kirkley, Project Archaeology lead for the State of Utah, introduced professionals to a fun and challenging curriculum, “Investigating Shelter.”
Participants enjoyed several guest speakers including Mr. Virgil Johnson, a Goshute Tribal Elder, Mr. Jerry Spangler, a professional archaeologist and Director for the Colorado Plateau Archaeological Alliance, and Dr. Tim Riley, Curator of Archaeology for USU Eastern Prehistoric Museum.
