BLM Seeks Public Comment for IACX Energy Project Environmental Assessment

BLM Press Release

PRICE, Utah –The Bureau of Land Management Price Field Office is seeking public comment on an environmental assessment for the IACX Energy Project, which proposes to drill one vertical exploratory well under its Federal lease located approximately 19 miles northwest of Green River, Utah. The 14-day public comment period runs from July 13 to July 27.

“We are committed to hearing from all area stakeholders about decisions that may affect local public land resources,” said District Manager Gary Torres. “The BLM values public opinion as we seek to balance the development of important minerals while also protecting the resources entrusted under our care.”

Flow testing conducted on the proposed well site will determine whether it contains both a sufficient quantity and quality of gas. If confirmed, then IACX will undertake additional exploration activities. If determined that the gas resource is not viable, IACX will plug the well, remove all equipment, and restore the site to its current condition in accordance with the district reclamation guidelines.

Interested parties are encouraged to submit comments online through BLM’s ePlanning project page at, where the current EA is also available. Comments can be added by clicking the “Documents” tab, then click the “Comment on Document” button.
