BMXers and skateboarders performed for the community at the “Rule the Rocks” competition Tuesday afternoon, which was sponsored by the Department of Health and KRPX.
The Department of Health’s Adam Bramwell said this is the competition’s six year and was actually a way to reach out to at-risk youth with a strong anti-smoking message. The competition takes place at four locations throughout the state; Vernal, Moab, Price and St George.
While many competitors were not wearing helmets, Bramwell said that next year they plan on receiving donations of Bell bike helmets for competitors and making it a requirement.
