New information has beenВ receivedВ surrounding the accident that allegedly claimed the lives of two Colorado men working in Nine Mile Canyon.

Brian Axe and Mark Widegren had been working on a natural gas pipeline in the canyon.

According to Carbon County Sheriff’s Lt. Tom Stefanoff, the bodies were found outside of the vehicle, “but stayed within a good distance of the vehicle,” approximately 800 feet below the road on which the Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling.

The Carbon County Sheriff’s Department is unsure as to what made the men deviate from the line of traffic. The Utah Highway Patrol will be helping them conduct a road investigation.
