Bonnie Nordfelt Day

Surrounded by her family, Bonnie Lou Nordfelt Day, returned peacefully to her Heavenly Father on March 8, 2019.  She was born on March 30, 1941, to Charles Junior and Ellen Tolboe Nordfelt, in Salina, Utah.   In February of 1954, the Nordfelt family moved to Moab, Utah, where Bonnie remained the majority of her life.  Bonnie was the eldest of seven siblings and was like a second mother to all of them.

Bonnie was raised by extremely loving and nurturing parents and these attributes were definitely passed on to her.  Her love for her Heavenly Father, family, and friends were her greatest passion.

Bonnie met her soul mate, Larry J. Day, while attending Grand County High School.  They were married June 22, 1959, in Moab, Utah. Together they raised three children.  Their family spent all of their spare time camping, hunting, boating, jeeping, and just having fun. In their later years they built a beautiful mountain cabin together.

As an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Bonnie participated in many church callings.  She also worked in varies occupations, such as banking and education.  With all of this, she still manage to be the greatest cook, keep an immaculate home, and crochet beautiful afghans for every single family member including siblings.

Our mother will be so missed!  She devoted her life caring for her children, grandchildren, and husband.  Her heart was broken after losing our father on September 9, 2010, and it never quite healed.  We feel so honored to be blessed with the most wonderful mother in the world!  She gave us the greatest gift of all, love and compassion.  She taught us in times of trouble, that we could always count on our Heavenly Father and our family. We are so thankful for the example she set for us.  Her beautiful blue eyes, her smile, and love will be in our hearts and souls to live forever.

Bonnie is survived by her 3 children, Larry Kim (Betty) of Grantsville, Todd (Robin), of Price, and Tricia (Dave), of Kansas City Missouri.  Ten grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Brothers: Craig (Dixie), and Kirtly (Gay). Sisters: MoNene (Bill) Manzanares, Dana (Norm) Springer, and SuEllen (Richard) Denison.  Sister-in-law, Glenda Nordfelt.  Brother-in-law Gary Day. Waiting for her on the other side were her husband Larry J. Day, parents, granddaughter Sidney Ellen Day, brother Dennis Nordfelt, and sister-in-law Doralyn Nielson.

Funeral services will be Wednesday March 13, 2019 at 1:00 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Stake Center. 701 Locus Lane, Moab, Utah.
