Seven Teens from Salt Lake, Carbon, and Tooele Counties Receive Opportunity for $2,000 Scholarship, Local Title, and to Represent Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake at State-Level Competition
WHAT: Outstanding teens from Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake’s seven Clubhouses will come together to share their stories and the impact their Club has made in their lives. One teen will receive the title of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake Youth of the Year, a $2,000 scholarship, and will go on to contend for the state Youth of the Year title. The runners-up will also receive $1,000 scholarships.
Distinguished Utahan Frank Layden will deliver the Keynote Speech at this year’s event, and will also be honored as part of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake’s Alumni Hall of Fame.
Since 1947, Youth of the Year has been Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s premier recognition program, celebrating the extraordinary achievements of Club teens. Club members who earn the Youth of the Year title embody the values of leadership; academic excellence; and health and wellness.
