Marsing Crushes Own Record, Takes State Title in 1600

Garrett Marsing. We keep writing about him and he keeps giving us more to write about. For the third time this year, Marsing broke the Carbon school record in the 1600 meters en route to a 3A title at the 2014 UHSAA State Track & Field Championships at BYU.

Marsing knocked another four seconds off his previous school record of 4:21.20. While his time has yet to be officially released, Carbon track coach Jimmy Jewkes said Marsing ran the race in 4:15.

Marsing will run the 800 and 3200 tomorrow.
