The Miss USU Eastern Scholarship Pageant was hosted once again on Thursday. Six hopefuls practiced their pageant waves, award-winning smiles and answers to the most pressing questions before competing for the crown. Contestants this year were Amanda Warrick, Ashley Leautaud, Kassady Sitterud, Brenna Bogdin, Rachel Bell and Emma Campbell.
These six women were then put through six categories to determine who would come out on top. These categories were lifestyle and fitness, talent, evening gown, onstage question and the interview, which took place beforehand on Nov. 26. Though each contestant had something to offer, the top three were finally chosen.
The awards were the Spirit of Miss USU Eastern, second attendant, first attendant and Miss USU Eastern 2018. Each category had something special attached to it. The Spirit of Miss USU Eastern received a gift basket, the first and second attendant were graced with a $500 scholarship each and Miss USU Eastern received a $1,000 scholarship.
The second attendant was named as Rachel Bell. Ashley Leautaud received both first attendant and the Spirit of USU Eastern. The crowned Miss USU Eastern 2018 was Brenna Bogdin.
