Bringing Hope to Homes is a youth/adult partnership that is sponsored by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, National 4-H Council, Utah State 4-H and Emery County 4-H. The coalition hosted its kickoff meeting on Thursday, May 10 at the Emery County Courthouse. Many local agencies and community members were in attendance.
Dani Jo Thatcher is the youth leader for the coalition and spent a week in Washington, D.C. in February at a training. Thatcher presented the state and county overdose statistics and also spoke about getting the community more involved in helping combat this problem.
Kolton World spoke to the group about drug addiction and how to overcome it and how to best help people in this situation. Southeastern Utah Health Department representatives did a presentation on the NARCAN drug and trained attendees how to use the drug. Stacey MacArthur from the State 4-H Office was also in attendance.
