Friends, family and supporters gathered at Emery High School on Saturday to watch as five young women competed in the Miss Emery County Pageant and five teens competed in Miss Emery County Outstanding Teen.
Randy Johnson, host of Heart of Utah, conducted the evening. He was assisted by Miss Emery County 2014 Sydni Ekker and Miss Emery County Outstanding Teen 2014 Paytn Jeffs.
The pageant contestants participated in several different categories including evening wear, swimsuit/active wear and personal question and talent. For the talent portion, the girls shared talent in dance, singing, piano and even an acting monologue.
In the end, Brittany Fortner was crowned Miss Emery County and Shelbee Murdoch was crowned Miss Emery County Outstanding Teen.
Miss Emery County 2014 Sydni Ekker and Miss Emery County Outstanding Teen 2014 Paytn Jeffs passed on their crowns and took their last walk before the audience as Miss Emery County and Miss Emery County Outstanding Teen.
Ekker will compete in the Miss Utah Pagent June 17-20. During Saturday’s program, the audience enjoyed the dance routine that Ekker will use as her talent at the Miss Utah Pagent. Jeffs also performed along with Little Miss Emery County.
