Pinnacle opened the 1A Girls’ Volleyball State Championships with the first round over the weekend. The #16 Lady Panthers welcomed #17 Bryce Valley to Price for the matchup.
Despite the road trip, the Lady Mustangs came out strong in the opening set, winning 25-14. Bryce Valley followed that up with a 25-17 win in the second to take the 2-0 lead.
Knowing it was do or die, Pinnacle attempted a rally in the third. The Lady Mustangs stayed strong and won the third and final set 25-13 for the sweep.
The loss bumps Pinnacle from the single-elimination tournament. The Lady Panthers end the season with a 8-17 record overall and a 1-8 mark in Region 19 play.
