Emery County has long been known for its friendly, small-town atmosphere. You buy groceries from a family member, go to your friend to pay the water bill and visit your neighbor to purchase a car. That same local feel also translates to high quality health care when residents walk through the doors of Emery Medical Center.
A branch of Castleview Hospital, Emery Medical Center offers a family practice setting as well as an urgent care clinic. In addition to family health, Emery Medical is also known for its women’s health services, child services, immunizations, occupational medicine and physical therapy. Patients will also find a laboratory and digital x-ray services in house.
Each provider at Emery Medical Center has roots in Emery County, including Ingrid Olsen, PA-C, Dalen Johnson, NP-C, and Gabriel Sermon, PA-C. At Emery Medical Center, along with a well-known nursing staff and administrative department, each face is one you’ve probably seen more than once throughout Emery County.
“That’s the great thing about Emery Medical Center; all of us have ties to Emery County,” Olsen, PA-C said. “We live here, we play here, we shop here. When you come into Emery Medical Center, we know you, we know your family, we know your history. And I think that makes it a great environment because it makes it a lot more personable. We all care deeply about this area and we want you to be happy and healthy here.”
In August, the staff will be welcoming a familiar face back into the fold as Lowell Morris, PA-C, rejoins the center to fill the vacancy being left by Richard Donaldson, D.O., who is moving to another area. These four providers will be the face of Emery Medical Center as they offer consistent care to the residents of Emery County.
“I love the patients and the area I live in,” Sermon, PA-C said. “I am one of the few that help and do their part in Emery County, trying to help make people healthy and happy. It’s a privilege to be able to help people when they are in need.”
In order to further serve patients, Emery Medical Center has introduced extended hours, that now begin at 7 a.m. On Monday and Friday evenings, the center closes at 5 p.m. while Tuesday through Thursday appointments are offered through 7 p.m. When Lowell Morris, PA-C returns, hours will be extended even further, with Monday including a 7 p.m. closing time.
“I think that is why we tried to expand our hours so we can be more accessible, so we can fit into your life instead of you fitting into our lives,” Olsen, PA-C, said.
When the winter season, otherwise infamously known as flu season, rolls around, Emery Medical also offers appointments on Saturday mornings from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. This generally begins in November and is every Saturday through February.
“We hope that healthcare isn’t going to be an inconvenience for people,” Johnson, NP-C said. “We hope that it’s going to be a great experience. Come in, get them in and out, get their needs taken care of, make sure their healthy and then let them go on with their lives.”
