Gagon Family Medicine + Urgent Care brings professional medical care to Price with three providers offering services in the office, in the hospital and in an urgent care setting. The practice offers general medicine, men’s and women’s health, obstetrics, infant and pediatric care, in-office procedures and hospital care.

“We see anyone from newborn to geriatric,” Mandy Whiteside, who is in charge of billing and patient accounts, said.

Shane D. Gagon, MD is a native of Carbon and Emery counties and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and a Doctor of Medicine degree in 1992 and 1997 respectively, both from the University of Utah. Dr. Gagon continued his medical training at the McKay Dee Family Practice Residency program, where he developed a particular focus in obstetric care and graduated in 2000. Dr. Gagon will also provide in-patient hospital care should the need arise at Castleview Hospital.

Also serving patients at the practice is Jeannee L. Hunt, PA-C, graduate of the College of Eastern Utah and Weber State College RN programs as well as the University of Utah Physician Assistant program. A native of the local area, Hunt is a member of the Utah Academy of Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assists.

New to Gagon Family Medicine and Urgent Care is Donna Mathis, FNP-BC. Since 1998, Mathis has practiced in Carbon and Emery counties as a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Mathis joined the Gagon Family Medicine team in October, offering her services to new and established patients as well as urgent care patients.

“They are kind, compassionate and caring,” Lisa Bundy, coding and billing director, said about the providers. “All of the providers work as a team, as a unit.”

The team rallies every week as it brings urgent care to the office. Open to walk-ins and non-established patients, the urgent care provides same-day treatment for non-life threatening medical emergencies including flu, allergic reactions, colds, sprains, infections and other ailments. Patients can also call ahead to be put on a waiting list during urgent care hours (Monday-Thursday from 5:30-8 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Sunday from 1-4 p.m.)

“It fills a hole here in the community,” Bundy explained about urgent care.

Also provided at Gagon Family Medicine + Urgent Care is the weekly immunization clinic. Established patients can walk-in from 8-11:30 a.m. and from 1-4:30 p.m. for childhood and adult immunizations as well as flu shots.

“We are always looking at ways to improve patient care,” nursing director Rachael Powell explained. “It truly is a practice for the entire family.”
