Business Spotlight: K & S Custom

Kenny Parish wasn’t born with a wrench in his hand. However, some time shortly after, his father gave him one and Parish has hardly put it down since.

Parish loves cars and has been working on building and customizing them since he was old enough to drive. With all of this talent, along with over 40 years of automotive experience, it made perfect sense for Parish to start a business doing what he loves. In 2015, he and his son Shawn started K&S Custom Automotive.

It didn’t take long for them to outgrow their original location, and in a year’s time they’ve already been forced to expand and move to a larger shop. K&S Custom Automotive specializes in custom work. From high performance race cars to custom ATVs, side-by-sides, lift kits, big tires and even boats; they can do it all.

“If it’s got a motor or four wheels, we can do it,” Kenny said.

Before he passed away, Kenny’s father used to build drag racers and hot rods. One of Kenny’s favorite projects has been the dragster motor that they built that is currently racing on the circuit at Rocky Mountain Raceway.

Kenny and Shawn have a passion for all custom work and they have served customers statewide. However, their favorite thing to build is race cars. They banter each other about who is the fastest on the track. The Parish Legacy runs strong through engines and blood veins as Kenny has passed his father’s passion onto his son Shawn. As a matter of fact, Shawn currently races in the super stock class, following in the footprints of his father.

If you are in need of custom work to make your ride faster, higher, stronger, or improve the motor and drive train performance; if you need a race car built from the ground up or a custom paint job, K&S Custom Automotive prides themselves on quality work at an affordable price.

Kenny and the crew are located at 174 South Carbon Avenue in Price. Shop hours are 9-5 p.m., Monday through Friday. They are also turning wrenches on some Saturdays and can be reached by phone at (435) 820-2065 or (435) 636-0180.
