Business Spotlight: Muse Coffeehouse and Specialty Drinks

Muse Coffeehouse and Specialty Drinks opened its doors for business on March 20 in Castle Dale and is owned and operated by Angie Barton. Opening her own coffeehouse is something that Barton always wanted to do and she saw a need for one in Emery County.

Before making the decision to open her own coffeehouse, Barton went to Payson to visit her friend who has owned a coffee shop since 1998. During her time there, she was fully trained and decided to use her friend’s coffee shop as a model for her own coffeehouse.

Barton then expanded her knowledge of coffee by learning the process of how coffee beans are roasted, where different types of beans come from, the correct method to make an espresso and everything she would need to run a successful business.

Muse Coffeehouse and Specialty Drinks exclusively serves triple certified Caffe Ibis coffee. Caffe Ibis is a family owned and operated award-winning “Green Business” and artisan custom coffee roasting house founded in 1976 by Randy Wirth and Sally Sears. Caffe Ibis was recently awarded the 2015 Roasters Choice Champion.

Caffe Ibis has a long history of seeking out quality coffees that meet high standards for the planet and the people. They have been a pioneer in the organic coffee market in the United States by demanding coffee that is processed and harvested with human health, human dignity and environmental benefits in mind. Many of the coffees are ‘triple certified’ as organic, fair trade and shade grown.

Muse Coffeehouse and Specialty Drinks serves dark, medium and flavored drip coffee, espresso, lattes, Italian sodas, smoothies, chai lattes, hot tea, hot cocoa, caffeinated and non-caffeinated drinks and more. All the drinks can be served hot, iced or blended. Also coming soon is fresh brewed iced tea.
